Here we answer everything you might wonder about the exam itself.
The driving test (often called the road test) is the final part of driver's education. It consists of a practical driving test where you must demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for safe driving in traffic. If you pass the test – you get your driver's license! 🎉
When you book your driving test on the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's website, you can choose the traffic station yourself. Our tip: Choose an area you are familiar with. This way, you can feel more confident on the day of the test – and it's also great to pass the test in the area where you will be driving on a daily basis.
The driving test usually lasts 60–75 minutes and consists of three parts:
Sensors from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration look at the whole picture – not just individual details. Minor errors can occur, and it doesn't necessarily mean a fail. The assessment is based on the main objectives of the training according to § 11-1. It reads as follows:
